Four-sided shower enclosure: features
It is a shower enclosure composed of panels on all four sides, that is, the windows are self-supporting and do not need to be fixed to the wall. It is also known as a freestanding shower cabin. It is a solution that resolves cases where the walls are not regular, for example, due to the presence of frames, or when it is impossible to pierce the fixed wall and therefore the wall profiles can not be fixed correctly and safely. Sometimes it is also used as a very striking aesthetic solution although it requires the presence of many aluminium profiles that tend to have a strong visual impact, often not appreciated. It is a shower enclosure not recommended in very large size because the stability is compromised.
It is a solution that is more theoretical than practical. This for two reasons linked to each other:
- the technical aspects that required the shower enclosure four sides have been overcome with other technological innovations
- from an aesthetic point of view, the increased demand for a shower enclosure with little aluminium led to almost zero requests
