Assembly with or without shower tray
How to assemble a shower enclosure with a shower tray? And without a shower tray? Here are some brief instructions, essential for organizing and doing a state-of-the-art installation.
Shower enclosure with shower tray
To ensure perfect installation of the shower enclosure in the presence of a shower tray, the rules to follow are simple:
- The measurements must be taken after the installation of the tray and of the wall covering because it is necessary to consider that a 90×90 cm shower tray after installation and tiling becomes 88.5×88.5 cm
- The dimensions must be carefully reported on the drawing of the relief because an internal or external edge, if misinterpreted, will give rise to a shower enclosure with incorrect measurements.
For example: a shower tray with dimensions of 70×100 cm, after tiling, will have a useful size of 68.5×98.5 cm. The correct dimensions of the shower enclosure will therefore be: 67-69×97-99 cm, indicated as in the figure, on the outside of the sales package.
A final important step before proceeding is to check that the shower tray is level in both directions (longitudinal and latitudinal). Finally, the bubble of the walls on which the shower enclosure will rest must also be confirmed.
Install the shower tray of the shower enclosure in the niche
One of the possible mounting variants of the shower enclosure with shower tray is that of the niche. For a niche shower enclosure, the reliefs must be as accurate as possible, in order to have a perfect positioning. In the figure, you can see the 3 heights on which to carry out the survey: at the bottom (L1), in the middle (L2) and at the top (L3). Since very often in the niches of the house the walls are not perfectly level, among the 3 measurements, the smallest one is the one to refer to.
Mount the shower tray of the corner shower enclosure
The shower enclosure with corner shower tray is one of the most common solutions. For perfect assembly, in the case of a shower enclosure with two sides, measure the distance from the tiled wall to the outer edge of the shower tray (P and L)
Assemble the shower tray of the three-sided shower enclosure
In the case of a shower enclosure with three sides, the distance between the two external edges must be measured and, subsequently, between the wall (with the tiles) and the front edge of the shower enclosure.
Assembling the semicircular shower tray
A shower enclosure with a semicircular tray needs all the necessary attention. We have prepared a simple diagram allows you to understand the measurements, where:
- P, L are the dimensions of the shower tray
- A, B are the straight parts of shower tray
The radius is used to calculate the curvature and therefore the overall dimensions inside the bathroom.
Shower enclosure without shower tray
The last case to be considered is the assembly of the shower enclosure in case you decide not to insert a shower tray. This particular type of installation always requires a preventive check of the level of inclination of the support surface and of the surrounding walls . The size of the booth (minimum or maximum extensibility) must include the exact placement size.
